Common PDF Export Mistakes to Avoid
Always double-check that your PDF was exported correctly.
Below are examples of what your PDF should not look like when submitting files for professional printing.
No Bleeds
The background image or color does not extend past the crop marks. When your project is cut, the edges will show unwanted white space instead of color.
No Crop Marks
Crop marks indicate where the project should be cut. A PDF without crop marks leaves the press operator guessing where to trim, increasing the chance of error.
Incorrect Page Size
When you open your PDF, it should match the trim size. A large page with artwork floating in the middle creates alignment problems. This also often indicates missing bleeds.
Artwork Tiling / Nesting
Do not tile or impose your artwork manually. We handle imposition and always optimize the sheet layout to save you money. Just send your files as a single piece at the correct final size ("1-up").
Correctly prepared files help ensure faster turnaround, accurate cuts, and the professional results you expect.
